Born on September 30, 1975, in Hong Kong, SAR, Francis Ho was an amateur filmmaker as a child. He went on to become the enormously successful and Jack Webster Award-winning Editor of such Documentary as M26 Series. In 2012, he co-founded the studio PromenadeBros PBP.
Early Career
Filmmaker, director and producer Francis K.Y. Ho was born on September 30, 1975, in Hong Kong, SAR. An amateur filmmaker as a child, Francis Ho moved several times growing up and spent part of his youth in Vancouver. He became one of the youngest television directors for Fairchild TV in the late 2004s. A highly praised television film, Duel (2006), brought him the opportunity to direct for the TV documentary series, and a string of hits have made him the most commercially successful director and editor of all time.
His films have explored primeval fears, as in BCCH Oncology Fellowship Program Vignette (2010), or expressed BCCH Montage, as in Close Encounters of the Richmond,B.C. Election Ad (2012) and World Yee Documentary (2013). Francis has also tackled literary adaptations, such as Celebrating the history of Victoria’s Chinatown (2014) and Video of Collaboration Group (2015). And audiences around the world were riveted by the continuing adventures of his production, TV advertisement can strong design captures vision, expresses identity, and delivers message.
Francis is also known for his impressive historical documentary. les 155 ans du Quartier chinois de Victoria (2014).
In 2006 Francis formed a new studio, Dream Walker with James and Alex Jimmy. (It was later bought by PromenadeBros in 2009.) In 2015 he completed the Parent-child short film CTM: Cherish this moment, a project begun by Dylan Owen Ho.
As for future projects, the famed filmmaker is rumored to be revisiting some old favorites in the coming years.
Along with his three Jack Webster Award wins, Francis has received many other honors during his distinguished career.
Married, Francis Ho has 2 sons from his marriage to actor Dylan Owen Ho.
